Stored energy only pays when it is traded against the market. Stromfee computes the Decke — the perfect-foresight day-ahead ceiling any ≥1 MW battery could reach — and measures real assets against it. One neutral number, live across 33 markets, register-true, on public data. No hardware to sell. No trading book of our own.

The measure

What the Decke is — and why it is objective

A benchmark is only trustworthy if the yardstick is fixed. The Decke is a hard mathematical maximum, not a forecast and not an opinion: the most any battery of a given size could have earned by trading yesterday's day-ahead prices with perfect foresight.

  • 01
    Fixed reference. For each market and day we solve the optimal charge/discharge schedule against realised day-ahead prices — the theoretical revenue ceiling for a 1 MW · 2h battery.
  • 02
    Register-true. Real batteries come from public registries at their real capacities — not a modelled fleet, not a marketing assumption.
  • 03
    The gap is the signal. Ceiling minus realised revenue is the capture gap — the money a strategy, a vendor, or a dispatch left on the table.
  • 04
    Same rule everywhere. One method, 33 markets, every day. Comparable across borders because the yardstick never bends.

The engine

How the number is produced

Built on the Fariah arbitrage trading optimizer — a perfect-foresight dispatch engine that prices every market, every day. The same instinct that once ran a home on the cheapest hour, now at grid scale.

Ingest public data

Day-ahead prices for 33 markets and the register of ≥1 MW batteries at their true capacities.

Solve the ceiling

Perfect-foresight dispatch computes the maximum arbitrage revenue for each market and day.

Benchmark reality

Measure real assets and strategies against the Decke — the capture gap is the headline.

Publish, neutral

Same method everywhere, refreshed daily, comparable across borders. No book, no bias.

Who reads the benchmark

Built for ≥1 MW BESS operators & direct marketers

// OPERATORS

Grid-scale battery owners

Know the ceiling before you sign a dispatch or trading contract, and see how much of it your asset actually captures.

  • An independent yardstick, free of any vendor's marketing
  • Cross-border comparison on one consistent method
  • Register-true — your real capacity, real prices
// DIRECT MARKETERS

Traders & direct marketers

Prove capture quality to asset owners with a neutral reference that no one can accuse of talking its own book.

  • Third-party ceiling for every market you serve
  • Daily-refreshed, defensible in front of investors
  • Public-data provenance — auditable, not a black box

Why it holds up

An honest benchmark, not a sales pitch

// INDEPENDENT

No hardware, no book

We sell no batteries and run no trading position. Nothing on this page is talking its own book — the incentive is accuracy, not a sale.

// REGISTER-TRUE

Public data, auditable

Batteries come from public registries at real capacities; prices are the realised day-ahead. Provenance you can check, not a model you must trust.

// 33 MARKETS

One method, every market

The same perfect-foresight rule from Poland to Japan, refreshed daily. Comparable numbers because the yardstick never changes.

What is your battery leaving on the table?

Run a Decke-Check: we compute the perfect-foresight arbitrage ceiling for your ≥1 MW battery, from public data, and show the gap to reality. Independent — we sell nothing but the number.
